ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Overview

The significance of the first project was the nature of the structural works including micropiles, structural steel bracing and Helifix anchors. The significance of the second project was the FRP column wrapping undertaken throughout the building.

Project Brief

This project involved three separate work faces.  The first involved bush hammering of the existing fluted columns.  These were then plastered and wrapped with Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP).  Some of this work included removal and reinstatement of walls and services to access the columns.

The second part of the works involved replacing the existing precast panels around the entire exterior with new.  The work involved both external and internal works and making good.

The final part involved the construction of a new external egress stair and some external/ internal alterations.
